The Academy

The Pastoral Leadership Academy is a personal and professional development process delivered in a four weeks over a two year time frame. The sessions are presented in a seminar/retreat format, with individualized coaching.

That’s the desired outcome for you — the participant in one of our most unique ministries: the Pastoral Leadership Academy.

Our mission is to enhance the leadership skills and overall effectiveness of ministers in the local church. We do this by focusing on the personal and relational proficiencies not traditionally emphasized in a seminary setting.

The Academy consists of four week-long sessions over an 18-24 month time frame. These sessions are presented in a retreat setting and are supplemented by individualized coaching and mentoring in between sessions.

Typically, participants in the Pastoral Leadership Academy have a minimum of five years of pastoral service before enrolling. That’s just enough time to discover where you need to refocus your ministry.

The Academy Overview

Week 1: Leading You
We focus on your calling and how you have been specifically created and prepared for faithful and effective ministry.

Week 2: Leading Ahead
We focus on your vision for your ministry and help you to understand how to lead the change process.

Week 3: Leading Through
We focus on effective conflict management and resolution, developing your leadership skills and understanding.

Week 4: Leading With
We focus on building and working with a team (either other staff or volunteers) in your present ministry setting.
